City of Beverly Hills Announces Afterschool Programs for the 2009-2010 School Year

Beverly Hills, CA – Parents looking for afterschool childcare options are encouraged to register now for programs being offered by the City of Beverly Hills. While the City’s budget cuts eliminated funds for the free afterschool playground program for the next school year, the City is offering a variety of fee-based programs and classes in order to provide parents with afterschool alternatives.

Adventure Camp, geared for youth in grades K-6th, is a fee-based State-licensed program consisting of homework studies, games, arts & crafts, a daily healthy snack, outdoor play and special events. Supervised by qualified Childcare Counselors, Adventure Camp promotes health and wellness and the opportunity for children to make new friends. In addition to Adventure Camp, a variety of fee-based afterschool enrichment classes will also be offered. Classes is science, sports, theater, dance and art will be some of the available offerings.

Both Adventure Camp and enrichment classes begin in September and are offered at all four schools. For a brochure and registration information, call the City of Beverly Hills Community Services Department at 310.285.6810.
